TEAM PRACTICE SCHEDULE

The team meets five-six times a week, developing on different concepts, habits, and skill for running and field events. Practices schedule, times, and equipment needed for practice is listed down below.

MONDAY - WEDNESDAY

Time: 4:15pm - 7:00pm

Location: Independence High School Track

THURSDAY

Time: 3:45pm - 6:15pm

Location: Independence High School Track

FRIDAY

NO PRACTICE

SATURDAY

Time: 8:15am - 11:15am

Location: Alum Rock OR Independence High School Track

PRACTICE GEAR

It is expected for athletes to bring the following items when participating in practice and competition

FACE MASK

This is RECOMMENDED, especially when we practice in any sort of indoor practice space.

RUNNING SHOES

Not Acceptable Foot Gear

Basketball shoes, Converses, Crox, Flip Flops, and any other shoes that do not provide adequate support to your body.

ATHLETIC // EXERCISE SHORTS

Not Acceptable Shorts
Denims, Short Shorts, High-Waist Shorts, Shorts that pass 2/3 of your thigh, displays genitalia, or are see-through. 

ATHLETIC SOCKS

Not Acceptable Substitutes
Dress Socks, Ripped/ Damaged Socks, or having no socks at all.

ATHELTIC TOPS // T-SHIRTS

Not Acceptable Tops

See-through or ripped tops, tops with inappropriate images or language, and tops that displays the breasts sexually.

COMPETITION UNIFORM

It will be expected for athletes to purchase their competition uniform (singlet top and shorts). To purchase your uniform and other team gear, click here

SWEATER/JACKET &
SWEAT/ATHLETIC PANTS

There will be practices and competitions that will get cold. It is important to keep your body at a state of equilibrium when working out or competing.

STOP WATCHES (RUNNERS ONLY)

It is expected for runners to time themselves and keep on track of their own paces, especially when given workouts that do not or will not have a coach around.

RESISTANCE BANDS

There will be exercises during team warm ups and strength training that will ask you to use resistance bands during said exercise to target specific muscle groups.

FOAM ROLLER

This item is important to have to relax tense muscles before, during, and after the workouts. Substitutes to a roller can be a lacrosse ball or massage gun.

SPIKES (OPTIONAL)

In Track & Field, the shoes used by athletes are specifically designated to grip against the track. Please note that there are spikes made for long, mid, and short distance events.

WATER BOTTLE/CANISTER

Not Acceptable Substitutes

Coffee, milk tea, soda, juice, or other sugary substances. Sports drinks such as Gatorade or Power Aid are acceptable.
